The work of the Cyborg Institute is organized into a number of projects. Many of our projects proceed in public and you can learn more about our projects by considering the wiki, planet, our git repositories, or by reading the following descriptions of our projects below. Do note that this list is only meant to provide an overview and flavor of our work, rather than an exhaustive overview of our projects.
Cyborg Institute Wiki (CiWiki)
Our wiki exists to provide our team, our clients, and the community at large with a way to share knowledge, collaborate on projects, and further a larger discussion of the most important issues related to the “cyborg moment” at the confluence of individual users, technology, and culture.
The wiki hosts a number of additional projects: Tumble Manager a proposed website content organization system, Sygn a proposed system for creating distributed database systems for social networking purposes, and Critical Futures a venue for experimental fiction. Additionally
Advocacy of the “Cyborg Studies” Community
It is surprising that there aren’t more people and groups doing work on cyborg issues and questions, and a major project of the Institute is to support and further the discussion among new and existing “students”” of this field. To this a significant portion of our public activity focuses on participating in and promoting this discussion. We syndicate a portion of the blogging discussion of cyborg issues, we publish blog, we host a wiki for ad-hoc collaboration on work surrounding cyborg-related issues.
More projects will be added to this page as they develop. You may also wish to consider our archive of projects that we are no longer focusing on. If you have a project that you would like to collaborate with us on, or would like to contribute to an existing project please contact us.
